Spam filter: protection against unsolicited commercial e-mails
Information
Spam are unsolicited delivered e-mails. These usually involve advertisements, chain letters, virus alerts or suchlike. Exigo is using the efficient virus filters from postini. If the virus protection is activated, which is the default setting, all incoming e-mails are scanned for known spam patterns (sender, subject, text content, links etc.). The filters utilizes a combinations of different criteria and from our analysis they detect more than 99% of the spam mails. As soon as the filter is recognizing an e-mail as a spam it is dropped in the quarantine.
How to activate the spam filter
The spam filter is activated by default. You can deactivate or reactivate it in the mailadmin. There you can also change the settings for the spam filter.
Quarantine
Spam mails are stored in the quarantine folder, which can be viewed at any time by accessing mailadmin. E-mails, which have been stored in the quarantine folder by mistake, can be retrieved and forwarded to the recipient.
White list and black list
The white list and the black list enable you to define addresses whose e-mails should be never labelled (white list) or always labelled (black list) as spam. The filters are most effective when there are no white list entries, as each white list entry allows the possibility for spammers to send you unsolicited e-mails.
Daily overview mail
With the product e-mail highscan you have the option to subscribe for a daily overview mail of your quarantine status.
